What to Have Ready When You Call

The conversation goes fastest with a few basics on hand:

• Which rooms — a nursery, a kid's room, the whole interior, or the high-traffic zones
• Any date that matters — a due date, a move-in, a birthday, a visit from the in-laws
• Who's in the house — kids' ages, pets, and anyone with allergies or asthma we should plan around
• What's on the walls now — builder paint, an older color scheme, or wear you want covered durably
• Color direction, even a vague one — a photo, a blanket, "calmer than what we have"
